Your Mac mini,
from anywhere.

Leave your Mac on at home or in the office, then see and control it from your iPhone, iPad or another Mac. No port forwarding, no account.

Free. Requires macOS 14 or later on the Mac you want to reach.

Works anywhere

Same Wi-Fi or across the world. Connections go straight between your devices whenever the network allows.

Sharp and fast

Hardware video encoding on the Mac keeps text crisp and the cursor responsive, up to 60 frames per second.

Private by design

Screen and input are end-to-end encrypted. Pair with a one-time code; there is no account and nothing to sign up for.

Made for Macs that stay on

Keeps the Mac awake, starts at login, and works without a monitor by creating a virtual display.

Touch that feels right

Use the screen as a trackpad, or touch exactly where you want. Pinch to zoom, with the view following the cursor.

You stay in control

The Mac shows who is connected, notifies you, and lets you remove any device in one click.

Set up in a minute

  1. Install FlatRemote on the Mac you leave on, and allow Screen Recording and Accessibility when asked.
  2. Click the FlatRemote icon in the menu bar and choose Add device.
  3. Open FlatRemote on your iPhone or iPad (coming soon to the App Store) and scan the code. That device can now reach your Mac from anywhere.

Questions

Does it work after the Mac restarts?

FlatRemote starts when you log in. After a restart, someone has to log in once (or the Mac has to log in automatically). If FileVault is on, macOS requires the password at startup before any app can run.

Do I need to open ports on my router?

No. Devices find each other through our coordination service and then connect directly. When a direct path is impossible, encrypted traffic is relayed and still cannot be read by anyone in between.

Can someone else connect to my Mac?

Only devices you paired by scanning a code shown on the Mac itself. Every connection is checked against the Mac's own list, and you can remove devices at any time.

My Mac mini has no monitor. Will it work?

Yes. When no display is connected, FlatRemote creates a virtual one so there is always a screen to show.
